MLDR Training Course: Agriculture, Environmental & Conservation Drone Operations Course Level: Intermediate to Professional Duration: 8 Weeks (Online + Field Practice) Certification: MLDR Certified AgriTech & Environmental Drone Operator Prerequisite: FAA Part 107 Certificate or MLDR Part 107 Course ⸻ Course Overview This specialized MLDR training course equips drone pilots with the knowledge and skills to support agricultural management, environmental monitoring, and wildlife conservation. Students learn to apply drone technology for precision agriculture, ecosystem preservation, and natural disaster prevention. Using advanced imaging (NDVI, thermal, multispectral), participants gain hands-on experience collecting and analyzing data to optimize crop yield, monitor livestock, assess irrigation efficiency, and contribute to environmental sustainability. ⸻ 📚 Course Breakdown Week 1: Introduction to Agricultural & Environmental Drone Operations • Overview of drones in agriculture and ecology • Key sensors: RGB, multispectral, thermal, LiDAR • Drone selection for different environmental missions • Data workflow overview: collection → analysis → action Exercise: Plan a sample agricultural drone mission based on a 50-acre farm site. ⸻ Week 2: Crop Monitoring & Health Analysis (NDVI) • Understanding NDVI and vegetation indices • Using multispectral and hyperspectral sensors • Identifying crop stress, disease, and nutrient deficiencies • Drone flight planning for agricultural data collection • Integrating data with farm management systems Lab: Capture and process NDVI data using DroneDeploy or Pix4DFields. ⸻ Week 3: Livestock Monitoring • Using drones to track, count, and monitor animal movement • Thermal imaging for herd location and health detection • Automating livestock management with AI recognition • Ethical and safety considerations when flying near animals Exercise: Simulate a livestock tracking flight and generate a herd heat map. ⸻ Week 4: Precision Spraying & Seeding • Overview of agricultural spraying drones and payload systems • Drone calibration, flow rate settings, and nozzle selection • Variable rate spraying and automated flight paths • Safety and legal compliance for chemical application Field Lab: Set up and simulate a precision spraying operation. ⸻ Week 5: Irrigation System Inspection • Detecting leaks and blockages using thermal imaging • Evaluating water distribution patterns and soil moisture levels
